We'll still be friends even if you buy from someone else, our goal is to help fit you into the correct golf equipment for your game.

Say, a new driver from most of the major OEMs may cost you in the $500 to $700 range. If you like your current driver head but would like to change it with a new shaft, I can help update that club and save you some money over the cost of a new driver. You know, the new carbon fiber driver from Swing Science is also a great option and they use the Taylor/Made shaft adapter .

We stock lots of shafts and the driver adapters from  most manufacturers, plus we can get just about any shaft made. Stop by or call me with your swing speed, tempo, launch and ball flight characteristics along what you like or don’t like about the current shaft and I can help change and improve your ball flight pattern.

Don’t forget that many times we can also adjust your current set of irons to better fit your swing.  Original equipment clubs (even the best known brands) are mass produced on assembly lines and many times lack the finer touches in assembly.  We'll help you get the proper shaft flex and bend profile to maximize your results. We are also an authorized fitting center for Epon, Swing Science, Wishon and EvnRoll putters!

Make sure that the loft and lie angles of your clubs are correct and not causing accuracy or distance gap problems.  We can adjust loft and lie angles on most irons and putters in addition to many hybrids and fairway woods (if the hosel length permits this adjustment). All of the shafts that we install are frequency matched, torque tested and “FLO/spined” before being installed in the club head with the absolute best orientation to ensure consistent results. Many off-the-rack clubs often exhibit an “ovaling” of the shaft during the downswing due to production short cuts.

One of the most important club head specifications affecting accuracy is the lie angle of irons at impact, after all, 60% of your on course strokes are within 150 yards of the green.  You can make a perfect swing with the clubface square to the target line, and the ball will not end up on that line if the lie angle does not sole correctly at impact.

You can try this experiment to make this concept more understandable:  Take your stance with a short iron in your hands, then lower the club in your hands, and observe as the club lie becomes more upright & the toe is in the air. Now notice what happens to the club as you lower it until the shaft is on the ground.  While it is impossible to hit the club in this position what would happen if you could? The ball would start left by the amount of the club loft, and backspin would be completely replaced by hook spin.  That is why you righties out there hit draws with your clubs when the ball is above your feet. As the directional angle of the club becomes more upright some of the backspin is replaced with hook spin.

For right handed players, too upright a lie will cause the ball to start left with a hooking action, with the correct lie, the club sole will center at impact starting the ball on the target line with no side spin and too flat a lie will cause the ball to start out to the right with a slicing action.  Longer irons are typically too flat as the downward centrifugal action of the golf swing causes these softer shafts to allow the head to droop down.

Your correct lie angle for each club can be determined with a dynamic lie test, then using this information each club’s lie angle can be bent to its correct position using our digital Auditor/GolfMechanix Bending Machines.

Lofts and Lies. Professional golfers on the PGA Tour have the luxury of being followed by massive vans and trailerss that are filled with the latest gear and staffed by some of the best fitters and club builders in the world. An overlooked benefit of that is pros can (and do) get the loft and lie angles of their irons checked frequently. Practicing for two or three days and then playing in 72-hole tournaments two or three times a month can make the steel in a player's irons bend over time and alter the lofts and lie angles. From day to day, the change is almost imperceptible, but over weeks and months, it can, for example, make a 7-iron that should have 34 degrees of loft actually have 36 degrees, and that will change how far and high shots fly. Legend has it Vijay Singh practiced so much he had his lofts and lies checked every week. If your irons are two or three seasons old and you have noticed that two clubs seem to hit the ball the same distance, bring them to us and get your lofts and lies checked, and be ready for a pleasant surprise.

Regripping your clubs can also make a huge difference in your game. Using a grip that's too small can cause over-rotation during your swing, while a grip that's too large doesn't allow your wrist to fully flex. We can help determine the right/best size grip for you.

And over time, your grips can wear, becoming hard and slick, This may be causing your hands to slip at contact, forcing you to grip too tightly. Remember that to maintain proper playability your grips should be replaced every forty rounds or once per year.

If your grips are are in poor condition they are not only subject to slipping, but they can cost you distance and accuracy thus adding strokes to your score. Tour players understand this, that's why they insist that their grips are fresh and new before each round, they also check and adjust the loft & lie of their forged irons every 3 to 4 weeks.

Many of the popular grips from Golf Pride, Lampkin and Winns are currently in stock and on sale! - if you've been procrastinating about replacing your grips, now is the time to save some money and get ready for this season.

We are getting an early start on the 2024 golf season this year as many area golf courses have opened in February! The USGA says 'ball rollback' is a fact of life. To offset this distance loss - remember: strike point, spin loft and club speed! Also, try to maintain a regular exercise program to stay flexible and stretch before your next round to play your best golf....
